Admission to DART will be open to all persons having a mental, physical, or social disability that significantly impedes his/her ability to join the regular work force. However, the following restrictions apply:
1. Must be able to:
a. Manage one's own toileting needs independently.
b. Follow simple directions.
c. Communicate basic needs.
d. Manage one's own medication needs independently.
2. Must be 18 years of age or older.
3. Must not be a danger to themselves or others or engage in disruptive behaviors.
4. Prior to admission, must have a current medical exam (taken not more than one year prior to application) and a social and psychological history summary from a professional in the field (completed not more than three years prior to application).
5. To ensure the safety of all clients and staff, and to meet federal and state contract requirements, DART requires a pre-employment (vocational program only) drug screen prior to the first day of work.
